Connecting to the Internet

You can connect this display and a computer in a network through a LAN hub by using a LAN

straight cable.

To connect to the Internet:

1. Turn off the main power switch of the computer and this display. If you make a connection

while the power is on, the devices may fail.

2. Use the LAN straight cables to connect the computer, the LAN hub, and the display.

NOTE: When you use a LAN cross cable, you can connect the display and the computer

one-to-one without using a LAN hub depend on the type of connection your computer

supports.

LAN remote control

The display supports two communication interfaces: LAN and RS-232C. By using the two

communication interfaces, you can control displays remotely:

• Use an RJ-45 connector for Ethernet networking as described above.

• Use an RS-232C cross cable (reversed).

For connection with a 25-pin serial port connector on the computer, an adapter (commercially

available) is required.

For direct connection using RS-232C, use the RxD, TxD, and GND transmission lines.

When you connect the display and the computer using a LAN hub and a LAN cable, and configure

the network settings using [Ethernet Setting] in the [Setup] menu of the OSD, you can control the

LCD display remotely (use the same commands as for RS-232C).
